Last day with the Seahorses

No, it's MY birthday!

Sofia loves birthday parties. For Sofia, birthday party = birthday cake. In fact, sometimes, she refers to birthday cake as "birthday". We talked about Daddy's birthday in the morning, but Sofia insisted it was her birthday because she was "old". I think it's going to take some work to explain that not everyone's birthday is her birthday. I tried to gently explain to her several more times how it was Daddy's birthday and her birthday was later and she would have a special cake, etc, etc. but she wasn't having it. So, I didn't try to convince her anymore and just left at - "Sofia, even though it's Daddy's birthday, everyone gets to eat cake." Her expression changed from distraught to relief and balance was once again restored to the universe.

During the party, there were several false alarms during which I would go into the kitchen to get something and Sofia would call everyone in from the back yard excitedly announcing "It's time for cake! Everybody come in!".

Fall Wardrobe 07 Preview

Is it too early for fall wardrobe? Apparently it is according to the look on Sofia's face. She was very excited about the "photo shoot" until we stepped outside and then not so much anymore.
