As Sofia gets older, it's become necessary to buy more practical "school clothes" for playing on your knees, climbing outside in the playground, jumping (and falling) on wood chips, you know, all the usual torturing devices for cute clothes. Plus, clothes have to be practical for potty training which has been going on for longer than I can remember and is sure to keep on going for a while. Sorry, all cute tights, just can't wear you anymore. So I take full advantage of the $5 sale pants and t-shirts. I consider these the work horses for school clothes and also expendable. (These aren't the $5 bargains. I'm just saying, that's what she ends up wearing to school most of the time). Sometimes a new white shirt will last her one day before it's ruined by "washable marker". OK teachers, washable marker does NOT wash off pourous materials like, hmm, clothes. For this, Sofia has a full coverage art apron at school but like hudini in reverse, she manages to get stuff on her clothes anyway. But alas, here are a few snapshots of Sofia's Winter/Spring 2008 fashions that still work for her active lifestyle.

This outfit works equally well for the defiant- moping-around-I-refuse-to-look-at-the-camera look and the defiant-I'm-going-to-jump-now-so-you-can't-take-pictures-of-me look. Extraordinarily versatile.

How do you manage to throw snow backwards?
