My first vacation

Sofia has kept us pretty busy since she was born and now almost four years later we finally went on a little vacation. It was about a three and a half hour drive up to Bear Lake so we felt compelled to get a DVD player for my new mom mobile. We told Sofia it's only for long trip so she doesn't get into the habit of watching it all the time. It's working so far. She got to watch some movies on the way up there and it was a whine-free trip.


Sofia had loads of fun playing in the sand and the water for hours. Of all things, we didn't bring a sand bucket and Sofia was vying for our attention to play with her. I suggested she go make friends with a little boy that looked her age that was playing by himself. I didn't expect her to take my advise as she is usually not the one to solicit others for friendship but instead her face lit up and she walked briskly right over to him, exchanged some words, and they started running around together in unison. Soon we got her a bucket and a shovel and she was set. She and Daddy built a condo community with a pool but it wasn't long before little Godzuki destroyed it. Sofia cheerfully rebuilt it.


Sofia wore out Abuelo and Abuela in the water convincing them to carry her, toss her around and generally hanging on to them. She played in the condo pool for hours jumping off the edge and playing in the shallow end, talking to herself, etc. Here she was excited to try on Abuelo's flippers.


I forced Ray to take a couple of pictures of me with Sofia as we collected shells so that there may be evidence that I exist.
