Recess
Usually, during "school time" there isn't much of a recess since it usually turns out that every 5-15 minutes there's some kind of interruption anyway. Be it, somebody needs their butt wiped, or somebody is trying to see how far their arm will go into the DVD player. Then, when we're done or then, when we're not done but I'm momentarily occupied with the phone, bathroom, baby, or some other short errand, Sofia and Marcelo usually decide to make their own recess by bouncing balls all over the family room furniture.
So, on this day, I decided the hellish cold was not as cold as it had been the past few weeks and told them to take all their youthful energy outside. After donning their spacesuits, they re-visited the playset and tried to make snow angels but the snow was actually frozen on the ground. Nevertheless, they got some good outdoor play for about 30 minutes. It then took about 45 minutes for Marcelo's face to come back to it's normal color. I started thinking he was also allergic to the cold. Still, they haven't asked to go play out in the snow since then.
